Face yoga Trainer

Mansi, who has trained several celebrities and top models for various beauty pageants, is in the city today to hold a one-day workshop on face yoga at GRT Grand, organised by women’s organisation Shrishti that works towards educating underprivileged kids, and Vajra, an NGO for women’s safety.

Mansi Gulati is a dietician and a beauty contestant at the upcoming Mrs Asia International pageant this year. But what she is best known for is the art of ‘face yoga’ — where she promises you can turn back the clock with just a few simple exercises, including...blowing kisses!
Finding it hard to get rid of a double chin? All you need to do is look at the sky and blow a kiss! This is just one of the many simple facial exercises that international face yoga trainer Mansi Gulati has been imparting through various workshops across the country and her YouTube channel, Mansi Yoga. The sky-kissing exercise stretches the jaw muscles and makes them firm, erasing the double chin, she explains in one of her many training videos.
“I will be teaching facial exercises that will help prevent pigmentation, face acne, wrinkles, sagging and reduce plumpness,” says the Hyderabad-based trainer, who has been practising yoga since she was nine years old. “I do not believe in the use of cosmetics and surgery to enhance features.
One can look youthful by just practising facial yoga for five minutes each day, wherever they are, even while watching TV or sitting in front of a system,” says the mother of a nine-year-old, and one of the contestants for Mrs Asia International 2015 to be held in June in Malaysia.
Mansi says that the exercises, if practised sincerely everyday, can reverse age by 10 years. And what are these magical age control moves?
“There is the owl posture, where you have to surround your eye portion with two fingers and stretch them even as you look up; stay that way for 10 minutes, relax and repeat the same thrice. This will help remove the lines on the forehead and the wrinkles near the eyes, which most get in their early 20s itself,” she explains. “For removing the wrinkles on the sides of your lips, all you have to do is hold your lips in an ‘O’ position for a few seconds, relax and repeat again,” she adds.
Another interesting posture to get a firmer jawline, according to her, is the balloon posture, where one has to blow an imaginary balloon, and keep the air pressed inside for a few seconds before releasing.
“There are as many as 85 such postures that can help increase the blood circulation and give the natural glow. The beauty about it is that unlike cosmetics, it all works internally,” she says. Exercises apart, Mansi, who is also a dietician, advocates a few ingredients that help bring the natural glow in skin. “Bay leaf is a great anti-oxidant. Taking it in the morning and at night after dinner, will help get rid of all the toxins in the body. I also recommend pistachio, tomato, carrot and almonds, which are very good for facial muscles,” she says.
The entry to the workshop is by invite only. Participants are encouraged to donate toward the organisations Shrishti and Vajra, at the venue.
