Goripalayam is an integral part of Madhurai. The Goripalayam Mosque is a popular Masjid where Muslims do come to offer their prayers to God. This historic mosque contains two tombs of the Sultans of Delhi. Two famous Sultans of Islam are buried here. Hazrat Sulthan Alauddin Badusha and Hazrat Sulthan Shamsuddin Badhusha rest peacefully in their green tombs facing a peaceful river. The Goripalayam Dargah can be seen from the nearby A.V. Bridge. It has been built is such a way that it faces the northern side of the river Vaigai. Madurai has its very own airport which is 12 km from the city. The closest international airport is Chennai’s which is connected to almost all cities of India. The AzhgarKoil road, 70kms from central Madurai solves every problem.
