Importance of Weeding Out Negative Thoughts

Mother says — “I have killed all the asuras except Shumbha and Nishumbha. Now activate yourself today by chanting om dhoom durgayei namaha. When we chant dhoom, we are filled with courage and valour because it activates the energy of the soul. Devi, who is simhavahini (the one who is seated on a lion) is saying that the lion, on which she is seated, depicts will power and strength of mind. Once we have removed all our weaknesses by chanting this mantra, we will also have this kind of inner strength.
sterday Devi told us that it is very easy to attain liberation in the kali yuga because we only bring out the shakti that she has already placed in us by performing some sadhana regularly. She has sent us pre-constructed.
Mother showed us how detrimental fear is to all of us and told us how to remove fear. As Durga, she initiated us into the powerful mantra Om dhoom Durgayei namaha to bring out the energy of our soul and banish fear from our lives. Devi also told us to identify and offer all our negative traits at her feet so that dhe could remove them. We also polished our shaktis so that we could offer them to mother.
Just like the sages in Naimisha Aranya, we have gathered here to worship the divine mother. Let us offer our salutations at her lotus feet and become receptive to the truths that she is going to impart to us today.

Yesterday Devi told us how important sadhana is. Today, she is defining sadhana by saying — aradhana + Devi’s jnana = sadhana. The adoration of the divine mother and her knowledge together constitute sadhana.  Suta Muni asks mother —“What are the fruits of this kind of sadhana, mother?” Devi says — “When you begin this sadhana and perform it continuously, on the 365th day I will give you a kavacha or armour. The 365th day of sadhana falls on the navami of navaratri. Once you get this armour of protection, continue your sadhana till vaikuntha ekadashi. Till then none of the negative qualities inside will bother you.”  When we may ask — “Will there be a force inside to protect me?” Mother says — “My child, you have not just one force. You have many beautiful forces in you — iccha, jnana and kriya shaktis (powers of will, comprehension and action) and the other 72,000 powers that I have blessed you with. Not only that, the 33,000 crore divine shaktis or forces like goddess Lakshmi, Saraswathi and Parvathi are also inside you to bless you.”
Now, mother continues —“You have performed sadhana for the last eight days. (We can never do this without god’s grace) You have sat unmoving for some time everyday with your mind quite concentrated and focussed.
You have put everything aside other than your soul. The very fact that you have been able to understand and assimilate all the truths discussed in the satsang is itself a great sadhana.”
Explaining further, mother says — “When you were born you were so small, yet every bone, muscle, organ, artery, vein and nerve was in its proper place in that tiny body. As you grew, everything remained in the same place, but expanded proportionately. So, even today, everything in your body is in the same relative position that it was on the day that you were born. Do you realise how wonderful and miraculous this is?”
Continuing, Devi says — “In the same way that I constructed your body, I also placed my divine powers in you so that they would constantly remain in the same places. However, unless you perform sadhana, they will not blossom. Right now they are hidden behind a veil called maya, illusion or delusion. That is why you have not understood your inner world. This is the time to discover who you are. You have learnt a lot during the past eight days. Now you have to weave it all into a kavacha or armour of jnana and rakshana — knowledge and protection.”
So, today instead of us decorating mother, she is dressing us in resplendent, radiant, effulgent, glorious armour. This is the ayudha or weapon that mother is magnanimously blessing us with. If we could take a kirlian photograph of our own aura today, it will look truly brilliant and radiant.
