Sarangapani Temple: Bathing in the Hema
Pushkarani Tank next to the temple is considered very auspicious.

given to us, hence no sorga vassal. Passing through any one uthirayana or
dhatchinayana vassal leads to sorga vassal.

Praying to this god will eradicate pilli, sunyam, etc.

Kunnacheri kailasanathar 6km from kumbakonam take holy dip
in pond and pray siva, sakthi & ashta lingam to eradicate bodies physical
ailments.
Naga nathar koil preserved by Seakilar swamigal is 5km from
Kumbakonam. Here ragu Bagavan is having separate temple. In Ragu kalam
milk color change to blue while
abishekam is performed.
Nethra Vinayagar @ Swami malai is called as eye given
Ganapathy (kan kodutha ganapathy) Sikal Singavelan temple is 5km away from
Nagapatnam & 19km away from Thiruvarur. Here performing sath-ru-samhara
archanai to lord murga (since from here only murugan got veal from sakthi for
winning at thiruchendur) is good, in order to defeat/minimize the power of
enemies. Have holy dip in Par-kulam placed at west of temple & pray to achieve the requirements.
Ennambur siva temple-Elutharinathar 5.5kms from kumbakonam,
agasthiar has learned grammar from siva here. Honey writing by the priest in
the Tung of the child enables him to speak well. Slow learners, forgetful child
will be written by flower stick by the priest.

A temple dedicated to Lord Subrahmanya is in Swamimalai,
6km from Kumbakonam. The Kampahareswara Siva Temple at Thirubuvanam
is 8km away.
Puvanur Sathuranga-vallapa-natahar & goddess Samumdeaswari is on Manarkudi to
Kumbakonam road. The thread tied in the hands of poison bitten hand get relief.
Pali-yangiya-nallur
is 1km near to thiru-nila-kudi which is in between Kumbakonam & Karaikal
road. After praying this siva one should go to Thirunallar for 7.5 sani,
astamathu sani & patha sani periods.
Pralayam katha vinayagar, Thirup-purambi-yam, his sandal colour statue
is suyambu and made of ocean materials like sangu, kilng-jal-kal, sea form and
nandan-kudu. On vinyahar sathurthi honey
abishekam is doen in the entire evening and the honey will be absorbed by the
statue itself, hence he is called as Thean (honey) urinjum pillyar. Devotees
who could see this pillyar at the time of abisheham are blessed with their
prayers solved before their next vinyahar sathurthi.
Patiswaram is 8kms from Kumbakonam. Shri Ramar has done pooja
to this Vishnu Durgai and has performed Sandi Homam.
Where to Eat
Arul Restaurant, Sarangapani East St, opposite the Pandiyan Lodge, is a good
vegetarian place with thalis ranging from Rs 15 to Rs 50. It has an A/C room
upstairs.
PRV Lodge, 52 Sarangapani East St, has a good, cheap vegetarian restaurant. A
thali meal is Rs 18.
Hotel ARR has a vegetarian restaurant along with a non-vegetarian restaurant.
Hotel Raya’s has a restaurant.
