Make free calls over a poor internet connection and still
be able to talk clearly. It is clearly the stuff of dreams given the
fact that call rates in the country have drastically increased recently.
Thanks to FreeCallApp that offers unlimited free calling, this is made
possible. Thank Jitesh Lalwani, 28, Aquib Maniyar, 24 and Dhiraj
Bijlani, 26, for creating this app that has the potential to change how
much we talk on the phone.
FreeCallApp is a free calling Android
app that not only works on 3G/4G but also works on 2G and provides
crystal clear quality to users for making voice calls. They started work
on January 20 with a team size of four and it took them two months to
develop the app.
Jitesh who hails from Pune has an Engineering
degree from Thadomal Shahani Engineering College, Bandra. Aquib, also
from Pune, is an MCA graduate from MIT Kothrud and Dhiraj has a
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Smt CHM College and is from
Ulhasnagar, Maharashtra.
Jitesh is a Senior Application Developer
with Faichi Solutions, while Aquib is a Java developer with the same
company and they reckon that learning about agile practices here has
helped them much in their journey towards creating FreeCallApp. Dhiraj
has been taking care of his family business for the past seven years.
On
how they came up with the app, Jitesh says, “Aquib and I were
discussing how the penetration of calling apps in India is very low
because people in India use 2G while only 3G networks give a good call
experience. We developed the app in two months, as we were very excited
about the prospect of introducing a calling app that works as
advertised.”
Aquib adds, “We have made the app keeping in mind
that the majority of the people in India do not have 3G. One can either
download the app on Android Play store or give a missed call to
08030636316.”
FreeCallApp supports operations in more than 15
countries including India, US, UK, Singapore, Germany, Canada, Brazil,
among others. It is being readied for iOS and Windows. The FreeCallApp
uses advanced compression algorithms that make a voice connection
between two users extremely lightweight and uses very less bandwidth.
A
self-funded venture, the founders say, “We dream of making FreeCallApp
people’s first choice of calling the way WhatsApp is used ubiquitously
for sending messages.” As a word of motivation to the entrepreneur in
all of us, the founders advise entrepreneurs to start working on one’s
idea no matter how small it is. “Start working and believe in it with
all the faith in the world,” says Jitesh.
